We traveled to the beautiful island of Maui for our firm retreat this year. Maui is a verdant tropical paradise and we were fortunate enough to meet at an amazing hillside villa in Lahaina. We met in the open air each day with a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean as our constant companion. The grounds were full of gorgeous flowers, plants, and fresh fruit. It provided a perfectly relaxing setting for our group of lawyers to share and reflect.

Almost all of the lawyers made the trip and those who were’’t able to appeared virtually. A number of spouses and significant others joined us for the non-work sessions.

We met for three days in a row. Each lawyer spoke on three assigned cases and we all offered input on how to best benefit our respective clients.   Each lawyer discussed individual goals, and all participated in discussions about the firm’s future and how we stay relevant, give back and grow. Case generation, mediation, diversity and inclusion, and community outreach were all on the agenda.

We were also lucky enough to celebrate a very special day during the retreat. Our founder, Paul Strimatter celebrated his 79th birthday on Saturday, April 23 along with his wife, Mary Elizabeth, and all of the lawyers present.

We shared great meals each night and shared ideas each day. We were able to focus on the firm and enjoy the outstanding beauty of Maui. There have certainly been calls to return!
