Stritmatter partner Mo Hamoudi kicked off his term as President of the M. Margaret McKeown Federal Bar Association by serving as the MC at the association’s annual dinner at the Lotte Hotel in Seattle. Speaking to a packed house full of members of the Federal bench and a hefty sprinkling of Superior Court judges, Mo used his origin story as a non-English-speaking immigrant child to inspire the crowd to reach out, welcome, and be inclusive of others.

Mo has an ambitious platform to foster Inclusion and outreach. He has initiated the FBA’s first regular monthly newsletter. His first President’s column concluded with a rousing call to action:
As Judge Salas reminded me in her New York Times op-ed, “When judges are attacked, you suffer.” Esther Salas, When Judges Are Attacked, You Suffer, N.Y. Times (Dec. 18, 2025). Our community suffers. We have a challenge ahead, and we will meet it together. Alongside these committees, let us shoulder that message, lift it high, and respond with engagement. Onward, M3 FBA—the work has begun; we’re excited for you to be part of it.
Mo is a former Federal Public Defender. That background, coupled with his current plaintiff focus, provides him with the unique perspective of understanding how the Federal Courts impact normal people from all walks of life.
The Federal bench is one of the most isolated areas of our government. The judges have increasingly been targeted by people and entities who do not respect the role of courts in our democracy. Mo and the FBA seek to shine a light on the importance of the Federal bench so that lawyers and others can champion efforts to preserve and promote the institution.
Congratulations to Mo on his year of presidency!
