The presentation will provide an overview of sight distance issues to consider in evaluating potential government liability for unsafe road design in cases involving collisions at intersections or driveways. The presentation will provide an overview of intersection and driveway sight distance standards and examples of road locations that were unsafe because of inadequate sight distance. The presentation will discuss ways in which governmental agencies (and in some cases, private property owners) can address sight distance problems.
