Everything You Wanted To Know About ERISA Subrogation But Were Too Afraid To Ask
ERISA subrogation is one of those topics that flusters even the most seasoned personal injury attorneys. In this CLE, Lisa will provide a soup-to-nuts primer on ERISA subrogation – what questions to ask, what materials to demand, and how to know whether the subrogation department is telling you the whole truth (long story short…. THEY AREN’T).
Lisa was born and raised locally in Puyallup. As a partner at The Stritmatter Firm, her practice areas include a wide variety of personal injury cases.
Lisa has had the honor and the pleasure of working on several high profile cases including the Ride the Ducks trial, the Charleena Lyles police shooting case, and a case on behalf of over 50 peaceful BLM/George Floyd protesters against the Seattle Police Department. Lisa was also second chair on an SUV-vs-motorcycle case that resulted in a $42.5 million judgment.
Lisa has also briefed appeals in both State and Federal Court – setting precedent forbidding an ERISA Plan Administrator from demanding that its members jump through more administrative hoops than those required by the Plan’s express terms (Becker v. Williams, 777 F.3d 1035 (9th Cir. 2015)).
