The Melvin Belli Society—founded in 1981—is an invitation-only group of nationally-renowned plaintiff’s trial lawyers. It is named after America’s most famous, innovative trial lawyer. Every year since 2001 the Melvin Belli Society has honored one attorney from around the country whose innovation and creative advocacy have significantly contributed to the practice of trial law in America.
On July 26, 2019, Karen Koehler of Stritmatter Law was honored with the Mel Award, in San Diego, California. Her work in the four-months long Ride the Ducks trial, resulting in a $123 million verdict, was an extraordinary and nationally recognized achievement in advocacy.
Karen attended the ceremony with the support and admiration of her law firm and her family (pictured below in order). We congratulate Karen on her remarkable and well-deserved honor.
