We are heartbroken to share the passing of J. Murray Kleist, who served as Of Counsel to our firm and whose legacy helped shape plaintiff trial practice in Washington. Below, Paul Stritmatter shares a personal remembrance.

Murray was a dear friend.  He had a terrific strategic legal mind.  He should be credited with the plaintiff-oriented interpretation of the product liability act.

Murray was fun to work with on cases; he was fun to travel with to far flung destinations around the world.  A really great person to call your friend.

We were lucky to have him serve as of counsel with our firm in the twilight of his career.  He will be missed.

I have handled well over 1,000 plaintiff personal injury cases.  I have settled or tried to verdict 80 cases for over one million dollars each. The cases have run the gamut from auto crashes to plane crashes.  From highway design to product design.  From recreational diving to recreational soccer.  From medical malpractice to legal malpractice.  From insurance fraud to Insurance Fair Conduct cases.  From Federal Tort Claims to Tribal Court claims.  I have done them all.
