On October 10, 2025, I took the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association on a wild ride through the world of the gig economy. Forget boring legal lectures—I broke down how companies like Amazon, Uber, and Airbnb are changing the rules of work, and what that means for lawyers, workers, and anyone who’s ever ordered a package or a ride.

With real-life stories, eye-opening hypotheticals, and a dash of humor, I explained how gig workers are often labeled “independent contractors,” what that means for insurance and liability, and how apps and AI are quietly running the show behind the scenes. I even showed how a simple phone app can flip the whole idea of “who’s the boss?” on its head!

Whether you’re a lawyer, a gig worker, or just someone who loves a good Amazon delivery, I made the legal side of the gig economy easy to understand—and maybe even a little bit fun.

I am Irani-Iraqi and grew up in Tehran.  Iran was in a middle of a war with Iraq.  Our city was bombed at night. My mom was scared that I would be sent off to fight in the war like other children my age.  She was scared that we would die.  She decided that we needed to leave our homeland.
