Community Involvement

The Stritmatter Kessler Family Contributes to Local Community & Worldwide Causes

The Stritmatter Kessler family believes in giving back to the community and the world. They show this through their actions and their ongoing generous support. Through the years, our attorneys, staff, spouses, and children have found much joy in contributing to causes near and far.

This section is devoted to sharing a little bit about our involvement. By doing so, we hope to encourage your contributions to these organizations.

Paint the Corridor Project: Stritmatter shows love for Grays Harbor through sweat and smiles

Paul Stritmatter initiated the “Paint the Corridor” project, which was initially focused on sprucing up the town for tourists, by painting 26 owner-occupied homes. However, the project quickly turned into a celebration of volunteerism and hometown pride.

National Conference of State Legislature

Lynn Kessler, Keith Kessler’s wife, was recognized this past year as the National Legislator of the Year (Excellence in Legislative Leadership) by the National Council of State Legislatures. Additionally, Ms. Kessler was recognized as one of the top 100 legislators in the nation.

In early 2010, Ms. Kessler announced her retirement, telling House members that she would not run for re-election in the fall. As one of WA Legislature’s top lawmakers, she has been in the Legislature for 18 years and served in the majority leadership team for about a decade. As a majority leader, Kessler was the second-ranking Democrat in the state House.

Ms. Kessler has been a leader on open government issues in the Legislature. She served on the state’s “Sunshine Committee,” examining state open-government policies.

Spinal Cord Injury Association of Washington

The Spinal Cord Injury Association of Washington (SCIAW) is a new nonprofit organization partnered with the world-renowned Reeve Foundation. SCIAW serves as a critical resource for all who are impacted by spinal cord injuries in this state. Stritmatter Kessler partner, Karen Koehler, is the visionary, founder, and board member of SCIAW.

Below are some photos taken from a recent event, the first Seattle-hosted Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Roadshow.
