Meet
Kevin Coluccio
Kevin Coluccio is committed to helping people. Throughout
his career, he has spared no effort in obtaining the justice
that his clients so richly deserve. Kevin spent much of
his youth growing up on a farm where he learned the importance
of hard work and a commitment to accomplishing the tasks
at hand.
For nearly 20 years Kevin has worked on cases involving
serious motor vehicle crashes, and catastrophic railroad
and maritime injuries. He takes a hands-on approach and
often meets his clients at their worksites or at accident
scenes to thoroughly understand every aspect of their
injuries and damages.
In 1994, Kevin became the youngest lawyer to ever be designated
by a union when he received the appointment from the International
Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers - Railroad
Division.
Kevin is recognized for his litigation skills in both
pretrial discovery and trial presentation. Since 2000,
he has successfully litigated three cases which resulted
in payments to his clients of over $8 million in each
case.
He is licensed to practice in Washington and Oregon.
Practice Areas
Automobile collisions, maritime and admiralty law, railroad/FELA
claims, plaintiff's personal injury, products liability,
child safety issues
Examples from Kevin’s Case Files
Unsafe Work Environment
Tkachev v. Ledcor
$2.4 million settlement
Construction laborer Vasily Tkachev, a Ukrainian immigrant,
was applying wire mesh outside a building. Guardrails
had not yet arrived for the scaffold Vasily was using.
As he worked, Vasily’s foot got tangled in the mesh
stacked on the scaffold and he fell to the ground. Injuries
included a broken leg, which eventually became infected
and had to be amputated. Through careful investigation
and a detailed presentation of the facts of the case,
Kevin was able to obtain this outstanding result.

Auto Collision
Neil Virnig v. Safeco Insured
$1.5 million settlement
Washington State University student Neil Virnig was the
passenger in a vehicle rollover accident around a blind
curve. Neil spent 10 days in the hospital for a number
of injuries, including some brain injury trauma. In the
case against the defendant driver’s insurance company,
Kevin helped Neil win a settlement for the full policy
limit. In addition, Kevin was able to obtain payment of
Neil's underinsured motorist policy limits.

Railroad Injury
Hannula v. Burlington Northern Railroad
Confidential settlement
Machinist Michael Hannula was injured as a result of the
railroad's failure to provide him with a safe work place.
Mike suffered a serious injury to his knee which required
extensive medical treatment. Kevin worked aggressively
in the discovery phase of the litigation to uncover documents
establishing Mike's case. The confidential settlement
was the largest known in-service settlement for an injured
Burlington Northern worker at the time.
